GIMAP story begins in the immediate post-war period when Mario Gianola, a Premana iron artisan, involved in the general development process of the country and led by the “desire of doing” typical of those years, opens a little scissors workshop.
Such a desire and the traditional experience still characterize Premana, which has always been considered the “blade capital”. They produced formerly weapons and sharp swords, and from the beginning of the century sharp knives and scissors for any use.
The research of product variety and the production quality have accompanied Gimap industrial development during the years: from the 1950’s little workshop up to the today modern organization, now managed by the founder’s sons, Biagio and Vittorino.
Today, after the progressive development began in 1970’s with the introduction of different automatisms in the production processes, they reached the marketing, the technological research of different materials, the most exclusive design and new products packaging system.
Another Gimap very important feature in the world-wide markets is the possibility of producing big quantities in a very short time. Furthermore, the alwaiys well-stocked warehouse allows Gimap to fill the orders in a nearly realtime (only the delivery time...).
Gimap is all this. A dynamic firm among the european Companies manufacturing cutting instruments, continuosly aiming at the markets conquest, where Gimap is a leader with 70% of its production exclusively destined to the export market.
